A great amount of time and money goes into custom designing an ADU from scratch, which can make building an ADU quite costly. XDG ADUs has already developed the plans for each model, so you don’t have to spend the time and money to work with an architect, one-on-one. You simply select a model and the plans can quickly be submitted to your city for approval. This greatly speeds up the process and reduces the expense of paying an architect to draw up a new set of plans.

What's included in our site specific package

This package includes all the necessary documents to obtain a building permit within the state of California. The plans will be stamped with a signature of a license professional engineer. Documents will include the following:

What's not included in our site specific package

The items listed below are not included in the site-specific package due to varying code ordinances enforced by local building departments that apply to specific locations or zones. It's important to remember that some of these items may be necessary a building permit can be granted and will need to be supplied by a third-party consultant or contractor.

Soils Report

may be required for all ADUs larger than 750 s.f.

Grading Plan

may be required for all ADUs larger than 750 s.f.

Fire Sprinkler System

will be required if the existing home has an existing fire sprinkler system

Photo-voltaic system design

required for all detached ADU's larger than 500 sq. ft.
